Rebate Programs

Don’t flush your money away! If you have a toilet that was installed before 1994, you could be using more water than necessary. HCUD is offering up to a $300.00 ($150.00 per toilet) water bill credit for customers who are qualified and participate in our toilet rebate program. 

This program gives a water bill credit for qualified customers who have their high gallon per flush toilet replaced with a new water-saving toilet of 1.6 gpf (gallon per flush) or lower (1.28 gpf) between November 7th, 2025 and September 30th, 2026.

• You must be a customer of HCUD.
• If you have a home built before 1994 and you have a3.5 gpf (gallons per flush) or higher water-using toilet, it must be replaced with a 1.28 gpf toilet or lower.
• If you have a home built before 2010, you may replace a 1.6 gpf toilet with a 1.28, 1.1, or 0.95 gpf toilet.
• You must use one of the participating plumbers for purchase and installation of your new toilet(s).
• DIY Installations do not qualify for this rebate program.

Customers of the Hernando County Utilities Department can get a $60 water bill credit!

Contact one of the participating irrigation companies, and tell them you would like to participate in the Rain Sensor Rebate Program. If you qualify, complete the forms provided by the irrigation company.

• You must be using HCUD provided water for your irrigation.
• Your home must have been built BEFORE 2020.
• Your irrigation system must have been installed BEFORE 2020.
• You must use one of the participating companies listed below for the purchase and installation of your rain sensor.
• DIY installations are not eligible for this program.
• This program runs from November 7th, 2025 until September 30th, 2026.

The High-Efficiency Washer Rebate Program is underway and qualified customers could get a $100 credit!

• You must be a HCUD Customer.
• Customers must have a new Energy Star labeled washer.
• Qualified Energy Star-labeled, high-efficiency clothes washers must have been purchased between July 23 and September 20.
• Rebates are limited and will be given to participants with an authorization code on a first-come, first-served basis.
