About Utilities Engineering
Examples of Utilities Engineering services and responsibilities:

- Planning, design and construction of identified capital improvement projects that provide additional capacity for HCUD's existing utility system
- Private development review and permitting
- Utilities capacity analysis review
- Interdepartmental project reviews
- Utilities review of FDOT road projects
- HCUD is a delegated authority of FDEP water and wastewater permitting for the FDEP Tampa office
- Utilities mapping and research
- Develop water and wastewater master plans along with future water and wastewater demand projections
- Provide HCUD's technical standards and specifications
- Supply the Operations Division with assets needed to deliver quality service

Septic to Serwer Conversion Project
The Septic to Sewer Conversion Plan is Hernando County Utility Department's (HCUD) response to the state mandated Onsite Sewage Treatment and Disposal System Remediation Plan requirement for Weeki Wachee Springs.
