Prescription Assistance

Emergency Prescription Assistance provides Hernando County low-income, uninsured residents with one-time annually emergency prescription assistance.

Patient Assistance Programs are typically run by pharmaceutical companies to provide free medications or financial assistance to low-income individuals.  For help obtaining free or low-cost medication programs and other ways to manage your medication cost, please Submit a Request for Help or Information Request below form.   Request Service 

 

  • Must be a Hernando County resident.

  • Must have an emergency need for assistance.

  • Prescription must be for non-narcotic, non-mental health, or non-sexual stimulant/arousal needs.  (Health and Human Services has final determination of type of medication provided)

  • Qualified applicants can only receive assistance from this program once every 12 months.

  • Hernando County has the right to decline assistance based on cost, funding, type of medication, and stated need (Off script purposes).

  • Assistance is typically only for a 30-day supply but can be less as determined by the county.

Prescription Dental and Health Discount Card

Coast2Coast Rx Card

The Coast2Coast Rx Card is a free prescription discount card that can save up to 80% on brand name or generic drugs. The card covers medications, lab and imaging and some pet prescriptions. It is primarily for uninsured residents, however insured residents can use the card if they have high deductibles, a Health Savings Account (HSA), or the drug is not covered by their insurance. In some instances the card can be used during the Medicare Part D “Donut Hole.”

Save on your family's dental, vision, veterinary, hearing, diabetic equipment/supplies, lab & imagining services, and so much more! The card can be printed in English and Spanish.
