About the Affordable Housing Division
This division administers state and federally funded housing programs for home repairs and improvements, provides subsidies through our local Housing Authority to first time home buyers for down payments assistance and coordinates grant awards. Programs administered include the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP3), State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) program and Florida Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) when awarded.

Purpose
Appointments and Qualifications
According to Florida Statute, 420.9076, The advisory committee must name at 8 but not more than 11 committee members and specify their terms. The Committee must consist of one locally elected official from each county or municipality participating in the State Housing Initiative Partnership Program and one representative from at least six of the categories below:
- Citizen actively engaged in the residential home building industry in connection with affordable housing.
- Citizen actively engaged in the banking or mortgage banking industry in connection with affordable housing.
- Citizen who is representative of those areas of labor actively engaged in home building in connection with affordable housing.
- Citizen actively engaged as an advocate for low-income persons in connection with affordable housing.
- Citizen actively engaged as a for-profit provider of affordable housing.
- Citizen actively engaged as a not-for-profit provider of affordable housing.
- Citizen actively engaged as a real estate professional in connection with affordable housing.
- Citizen actively serves on the local planning agency pursuant to Florida Statutes Section 163.3174.
- Citizen who resides within the jurisdiction of the local governing body making the appointments.
- Citizen who represents employers within the jurisdiction.
- Citizen who represents essential services personnel, as defined in the local housing assistance plan.
Note
Citizens are welcome to apply at any time, however applications are only considered when there is a vacancy.
Term Limit
Three years.
