Long Range Transportation Plan

The Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) is an essential element of the transportation planning process for Hernando and Citrus Counties including the Spring Hill Urbanized Area in Hernando County, and the Homosassa Springs – Beverly Hills-Citrus Springs Urbanized Area in Citrus County.

About the Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP)

The LRTP serves as the foundation for the development of the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) and is a 20-year blueprint, in accordance with 49 USC 5304(f), that reflects the application of programmatic transportation goals to project prioritization including roadways, transit, bicycles, pedestrians, trails, and freight. Adding to these challenges are the modern-day needs related to safety, congestion, and addressing the implications of climate change, all of this occurring in a fiscally constrained environment.

The development of the LRTP is based on an extensive participatory process with input from partners, stakeholders, and the general public.
