Applications

We are accepting applications for new Concealed Weapon Licenses (CWL) as well as renewals at the Tax Collector's main office at the Brooksville Courthouse.

Fingerprints, photographs, and related services are available to process new applications and renewals.

Important Notes


All new Florida Concealed Weapon Licenses are issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) and are mailed to recipients.

Our office can print renewals for most Florida Concealed Weapon Licenses.

 

Military Members and Veterans

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) expedites all Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License applications submitted by active military members and veterans.

Active Military Personnel

Include a copy of one of the following with your application:

    • Common Access Card (CAC) or other official military identification
    • Current orders as proof of active duty status
Honorably Discharged Veterans

Include a copy of your DD 214 (long form) with your application

Checklist

Bring the following items/documents to your appointment:

    • A valid Driver License or ID card
    • A copy of a training document or certificate confirming firearm proficiency
    • Certified court documentation for any prior arrests showing final disposition
    • Citizenship or residency documentation (if applicable)
    • Payment (cash, check, or credit/debit card

First-Time Applicants

To apply for a Concealed Weapon License:
    • Determine if you are eligible for a Concealed Weapon License.
    • Applicants must demonstrate competency with a firearm in order to qualify.
    • Read the application instructions to learn what is required.
    • Bring all required documentation with you to your appointment.

If a U.S. citizen born outside the United States:
    • U.S. passport
    • Certificate of Birth Abroad (FS-240)
    • Certification of Report of Birth (DS-1350)
    • Certificate of Naturalization (N-550 or N-570)
    • Certificate of Citizenship (N-560 or N-561)

If a permanent resident alien:
    • USCIS documentation showing permanent resident status (I-551)
