Tyler Enterprise Permitting and Licensing System
Media Release
Tyler Enterprise Permitting and Licensing System
The County will soon be implementing the new Tyler Enterprise Permitting and Licensing System, which will replace the current software. This new system will offer a more user-friendly customer interface and a more streamlined permitting process.
To complete this transition, there will be a temporary period of modified planning, zoning, permitting and licensing operations while the existing system is unavailable.
The Development Services Departmentโs normal operating hours remain in effect. Modified processes during the software transition will be in place from the end of business day February 10, 2026, through March 2, 2026.
During this time, the following will apply:
-
-
- Customers are encouraged to complete any time-sensitive transactions prior to the modified operations period.
- Customers who have already been notified that permits are ready to issue are encouraged to complete those transactions before February 10, 2026.
- Applications for new construction may still be submitted for review during this period in person at the office or via email at: emergencypermits@co.hernando.fl.us
- Customers with projects currently under review will receive email notifications with approvals or review comments. Walk-through permits will continue to be issued during this period. Customers are encouraged to retain all receipts and notices received.
- The current Contractor Permit Portal will be disabled beginning February 10, 2026. Contractors are encouraged to download, print, or save copies of any pertinent permit history, inspection history, or current permit status needed during this time.
- Contractors should be prepared to provide licenses, workersโ compensation, and liability documentation for permit submittals or issuance.
- The Building Divisionโs current parcel and permit information website will be disabled and replaced with the new customer interface. Delays in fulfilling certain public records requests may occur during this transition.
- Inspections will continue and may be scheduled by phone (352-754-4050) or by emailing the Building Department at: emergencypermits@co.hernando.fl.us
- Code Compliance will still be able to accept complaints. We will not be able to accept payments or provide pay-off information for liens, assessments, or citations during this time frame.
- Contractor Licensing will not be able to fulfill requests from the public or any other entity for unsafe structures or open building work orders on NextRequest.
- Customers can continue to submit subdivision, residential zoning and commercial development permit applications during this transition period. Please contact the Planning and Zoning Division at (352) 754-4057 or via email at planning@hernandocounty.us with any questions.
- The Hernando County Property Appraiser website will not be affected during this transition time. Please utilize their site for general parcel information.
-
We apologize for any inconvenience this temporary modified operations period may cause and appreciate your patience as we work to enhance our services.
