(Brooksville, FL) – Effective Monday, August 31, 2026, TheBus’ Mermaid Route (Route 9) is no longer operating on Sundays or on observed holidays.

Route 9 provides direct service to Pine Island Park, Roger’s Park, Bayport Park, and Jenkins Creek Park, and offers park-and-ride option at Linda Pedersen Park. The route will continue to operate on its regular Monday through Saturday schedule, except on holidays. All other bus routes will also continue to operate on their normal Monday through Saturday schedules, with the exception of holidays.

TheBus is closed on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day.
