Holiday Collection Reminders:

Due to increased trash and recycling volumes following the holiday, delays may occur the following week. To help ensure timely service for all customers, please review the guidelines below:

  • Only material inside the blue cart with the lid fully closed will be collected.
  • Do not place waste outside the cart for collection. Use drop-off or bulk collection options.
  • Use curbside recycling to save space in your blue cart.
  • Collection may occur earlier or later than usual. Place carts curbside before 6 a.m.
  • Place carts at least three feet from mailboxes, vehicles, or other obstructions.
  • Please wait until 10:00 a.m. the following day before reporting a missed pickup.

Drop-Off Availability:

All Solid Waste facilities are closed on designated holidays but remain open during normal business hours the remainder of the holiday week for disposal of household garbage, recycling, and yard waste.

Holiday Closures:

Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, and Independence Day

Christmas Tree Disposal:

Live Christmas trees may be disposed of on your yard waste day if they are cut to less than four-foot lengths and cleaned of all Christmas decorations, including tinsel. Artificial Christmas tree segments under 4 feet long, and any decorations thereon, may be disposed of as a free bulk item by calling to schedule pickup.

Fireworks Disposal Safety:

Fireworks pose a significant fire hazard when placed in garbage containers without being properly extinguished. Fires involving garbage trucks or landfill waste can result in serious injury, loss of life, property damage, and harm to the environment and wildlife. To help prevent fires, completely submerge used fireworks in a large container of water overnight. Once fully saturated, place the fireworks in two sealed plastic bags to prevent them from drying out before disposing of them in household garbage.

Fireworks are not recyclable and should never be placed in your recycling container.
