Hernando County Transit Services (TheBus) Will Launch Two New Bus Routes On May 4, 2026

(Brooksville, FL) – Hernando County’s transit system, TheBus, is expanding service with the introduction of two new bus routes, Route 10 and Route 11, beginning May 4, 2026. These new routes are designed to increase access to key destinations and better serve residents throughout the region.

Route 10:

  • Route 10 will operate as a loop connecting the Walmart on SR 50 and the Publix on County Line Road. This route provides vital north-south service through the East Spring Hill area, linking neighborhoods with essential services and enhancing mobility within Spring Hill.
  • Major Corridors include Anderson Snow Road, Elgin Boulevard, Deltona Boulevard, Cortez Boulevard, and Barclay Avenue.
  • This route serves several popular destinations including, but not limited to, Publix at Avalon, Anderson Snow Park Splash Pad, the Walmart Neighborhood Market, and the Walmart on Cortez.

Route 11:

  • Route 11 will also operate as a loop, running between the Walmart on SR 50 and the Publix in Sugarmill Woods in Citrus County. This route provides two-way service along the Commercial Way (US-19) corridor and extends transit access beyond Hernando County.
  • Major Corridors include Commercial Way on US-19, Hexam Road, Sunshine Grove Road, and connections to Cortez Boulevard.
  • This route offers seamless regional connectivity, making cross-county travel more convenient.
