Hernando County Government Will Host an Opening Ceremony for the New Monument at Veterans Memorial Park
(Brooksville, FL) – Hernando County Government will host a ribbon cutting for the new Veterans Monument at Veterans Memorial Park, located at 12254 Spring Hill Dr, Spring Hill, FL 34609, on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
The Veterans Monument will reflect and honor the bravery and sacrifice of Hernando County Veterans. The memorial will feature flags from each branch of the United States military. It will serve as a place of remembrance and reflection for Veterans and their families.
Hernando County Government invites all active-duty military personnel, veterans, their families, and members of the general public to attend this special event. The ceremony will include remarks from guest speakers who will share in recognizing the significance of this tribute and the service of our nation’s heroes.
This project was made possible through the generous support of Brian Hawkins and the Hawkins family, whose contribution helped bring this vision to life.
“I am deeply honored, both as a County Commissioner and as a U.S. Navy Veteran, to support a project that recognizes the courage and sacrifice of the men and women who have served our country,” said Commissioner Hawkins. “This monument is a lasting tribute to our veterans and a place where our community can come together to reflect, remember, and show our gratitude for their service.”
