The Hernando County Port Authority is a five member board appointed by the Board of County Commissioners of Hernando County. Members are appointed for a period of four years.

Members of the Port Authority function as the liaison between members of the public and county staff. They deal with matters related to the Weeki Wachee River, Withlacoochee River, Hernando Beach Channel, Bayport Channel, tributaries and canals connecting all other navigable waterways used by the public for recreation including, without limitation, boating, fishing, swimming, bathing, commerce and transportations which fall under the purview of the Department of Public Works Aquatic Services Division.  Port Authority members are:

  • Frank Santo, Chairman
  • Steve Barton, Vice Chairman
  • Chuck Morton, Member
  • Mike Fulford, Member
  • Michael Senker, Member

Wayne Dukes is the county commissioner liaison to the Port Authority Board.

The Hernando County Port Authority Board holds monthly meetings at the Hernando Beach Recreation Building, located at 6340 Shoal Line Blvd. Meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. Citizens are encouraged to attend these informative meetings.
