IMPORTANT PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

Important message from Hernando County Emergency Management and Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative.

WREC is asking their members to abide by local evacuation orders, if flooding occurs, they may need to disconnect power to flooded areas. This may include neighborhoods such as Hernando Beach, Aripeka, Bayport, and Pine Island. There is no planned outage at this time and WREC will be monitoring conditions continuously throughout the storm to make that determination.

As a reminder, mandatory evacuation orders were issued today for evacuation zones A, B, and C, which includes all West of US 19, low-lying areas, and manufactured homes. If you live in areas with mandatory evacuations, please get you and your family to safety ahead of the storm.

Public safety is our number one priority.
