Emergency Management and the Florida Department of Health in Hernando County encourage residents to remain informed. We can all help to prevent the spread of disease by:

1. Washing your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing
2. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol
3. Avoid close contact with people who are sick, and stay home when you are sick
4. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
5. Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe

Monitor trusted sources of information such as the Health Department website at www.FloridaHealth.gov/COVID-19 and the CDC at www.CDC.gov to learn the facts and to follow recommendations to prevent the spread of disease.

Citizens encouraged to view and provide public comment remotely for upcoming BOCC meeting

Hernando County Government announces resources available for residents to view and provide public comment at Board of County Commission (BOCC) meetings remotely and encourage them to do so if they do not have any items before the Board.

The next regularly scheduled BOCC meeting is Tuesday, March 24, 2020 beginning at 9 a.m. To comply with CDC guidelines on public gatherings, citizens are encouraged to submit their comments to be entered into the record via email to CitizensComments@HernandoCounty.us until further notice. Public comment for the March 24 BOCC meeting will be accepted until the end of the meeting. Agendas and minutes for all BOCC meetings can be found at the following link: http://hernandocountyfl.iqm2.com/citizens/.

Hernando County Emergency Management and the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) in Hernando County are actively monitoring COVID-19 and encourage residents to remain informed. While there are no known cases of COVID-19 in our community, we can all help to prevent the spread of disease by:
