Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ November Class/Workshop Schedule

News UpdateThe Hernando County Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ (FFL) program offers classes and workshops year-round to help residents learn how to save time, money and water when maintaining their lawns and gardens. The schedule of classes and workshops along with a short description of each is listed below.

Free Class: Shabby-Chic Landscapes

Residents are invited to attend “Shabby-Chic Landscapes” on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the IFAS Extension Hernando County Office located at 16110 Aviation Loop Drive in Brooksville. Participants will learn easy and inexpensive ways to have beautiful and long-lasting landscape that doesn’t wreak havoc on their budget. This class will be presented by FFL Coordinator Lilly Browning. No registration necessary.

Rain Barrel Workshop

Residents are invited to attend a Rain Barrel Workshop on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Hernando County Utilities Building located at 15365 Cortez Boulevard in Brooksville. This workshop will be presented by FFL Program Coordinator Lilly Browning. Rain barrels are $50 each. Attendance is mandatory to purchase a rain barrel; however, you may attend without purchasing one. Please make checks payable to HCUD and mail to Hernando County Utilities, 15365 Cortez Boulevard, Brooksville, FL 34613. Write “Rain Barrel Workshop November 20” on the envelope. Checks will be the only form of payment accepted and must be received by November 19, 2019. Hernando County Utilities customers who attend the workshop and install a rain barrel at their home will receive a one-time $25 credit on their water bill. Please bring a vehicle that can accommodate a 55-gallon barrel. All sales final. Call (352) 540-6230 for more information.
