Hernando County declares a Local State of Emergency
Hernando County Emergency Management continues to monitor Hurricane Dorian. Government leaders are assessing current and forecasted conditions to determine the need for additional emergency protective measures. PROCLAMATION NO. 2019-01, Declaration of State of Local Emergency, has been enacted by the Hernando County Executive Policy Group. This will enable Hernando County to implement emergency protective measures and mobilize resources to support response and recovery efforts.
At this time, residents are encouraged to:
- Closely monitor the progress of this system through local media outlets
- Update and review family emergency plans and preparations
- Check emergency supply kits
Hernando County Government’s Office of Emergency Management continues to monitor and inform our community about storm impacts. Visit the following web and social media sites or call the Public information center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily for more information.
