Railroad repairs require temporary road closures and detours

News UpdateFlorida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be performing upcoming repair work on railroad crossings in two areas of Hernando County:

  • US 98 (between 422-600 Ponce De Leon Boulevard in Brooksville)
  • US 41 (331 West Jefferson Street in Brooksville)

Construction will require road closures in these areas as motorists will not be able to cross the tracks.

US 98 will be closed between 422-600 Ponce de Leon Boulevard to through traffic from August 16 to August 21, 2019. Thereafter, construction may impact traffic with lane closures through September 2019.

US 41 will be closed at 331 West Jefferson Street to through traffic from August 23 to August 31, 2019. Thereafter, construction may impact traffic with lane closures through September 2019.

Construction will consist of millings and resurfacing roadways in both areas with some drainage and concrete improvements on West Jefferson Street.

Through traffic will be detoured around the work zones using the detour maps below.
