NOTICE OF TRANSIT PROGRAM OF PROJECTS (REVISED)
HERNANDO COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
FISCAL YEAR 2019 PROGRAM OF PROJECTS (POP)
FOR THE HERNANDO COUNTY MASS TRANSIT SYSTEM (TheBus)
ALL INTERESTED PARTIES are hereby notified that the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners is making application to the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) for program funds under 49 U.S.C. Section 5307, Urbanized Area Formula Program of the Federal Transit Act, as amended. The Program of Projects is detailed below to coincide with the 2019 Florida Governor’s Apportionment.
On July 16, 2019, at 9:00 am or shortly thereafter the Board of County Commissioners will be reviewing and approving a revised FY 2019 Program of Projects budget and the public is invited to be heard. The meeting will be held in the County Commissioners Meeting Room, Room 160 in the Government Center, 20 N. Main Street, Brooksville, Florida. This notice of public involvement activities and time established for public review and comments will satisfy the FTA’s Program of Projects requirements. Unless amended by the Board, grant application will
be made based upon this program.
Operating Budget: $1,207,784
Federal Share: $603,892, State: $301,946, Local: $301,946
Operating assistance includes the transit operator contract, fuel, legal advertisements, non-capital repairs and maintenance, vehicle graphics, general office/operating supplies, signage, travel related to training, meetings, and workshops, equipment, and other associated eligible transit operating expenses.
Capital Program Budget: $1,645,176
Grant/Project Administration, engineering and improvements for bus stops, preventative maintenance capital, a replacement transit shelter and associated amenities, replacement of two (2) fixed-route heavy duty buses, a replacement of a paratransit vehicle for Americans with
Disabilities (ADA), driver safety barriers for fixed-route vehicles, and other transit program related equipment. Operating assistance is estimated based upon net costs after system revenues have been deducted. Capital items are 100% reimbursable utilizing approximately 20% soft match from State toll revenue/development credits.
