Convenient Payment Service Centers

Payment service centers are located at businesses throughout Hernando County.  For a small fee, these businesses will accept payments for Hernando County Utility Water and Sewer bills.  Some of these service centers are open 24 hours a day. Be sure to bring your payment stub, as Service Centers DO NOT have access to your account information!

If your account is delinquent, your payment should be made directly with our Customer Service office unless prior arrangements have been made. Making a payment at a service center does not prevent your service from disconnection.

Payments accepted at the payment service centers could take up to three businesses days to post to your account.

Fill out the Application  Be sure to include all the requested information and a voided check from your checking account.
Return the Application Return the application to the address on the form. Your bill will indicate when you are an EFT participant.
After Your Application is Processed After your application is processed, you will still be able to ask questions about your water and/or bill, and resolve any problems before the EFT is processed. To make changes or discontinue your EFT  please call Customer Service at (352) 754-4037
EFT applications can take up to two billing cycles to process .Please continue to pay your bill until the EFT activation notice appears on your statement

PENALTY/SHUT-OFF NOTICE/SHUT-OFF OF SERVICE
Hernando County Utilities Department must impose these additional fees to defray costs for late notices, shut-offs, and service reconnection so that delinquent customers, and not all rate-payers, pay these costs. Please keep your account up to date to avoid these penalties.

  • PENALTY. Utility bills are due upon receipt and become past due 20 days after the billing date. Failure to receive a bill does not prevent service interruption or additional service charges. If your statement shows a past due balance on the date of the next monthly billing, a penalty of 5% of the past due bill will be added to the bill and water and/or sewer services will be subject to disconnect and additional fees.
  • SHUT-OFF NOTICE. A prior to disconnect a courtesy call will be issued for any balance unpaid after 30 days. Please update your telephone number changes by calling a customer representative at 352-754-4037.
  • ACTUAL SHUT-OFF OF SERVICE. Service personnel will be sent to shut-off water and sewer service to an account address with a past due balance unpaid after approximately 35 days. A $30 service charge will be added to your account when personnel are dispatched to your address. This fee, along with any previous balance and penalties or fees, must be paid prior to reconnection of service.

PAYMENT AND DISCONNECT POLICY
Utility bills are due upon receipt and become past due 20 days after the billing date. Failure to receive a bill does not prevent service interruption or additional service charges. If this statement shows a past due balance, it should be paid immediately to avoid a late fee and possible interruption of service. If you believe the past due amount has already been paid, please contact Customer Service at (352) 754-4037 between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM to ensure payment has been applied to this account. Your service may be disconnected for failure to pay the past due balance in full in a timely manner. In order to restore service, all past due charges, together with any fees, must be paid in full. A partial payment is not sufficient to resume service unless satisfactory arrangements have been made with Customer Service in advance. Disconnection may result in an additional deposit being required.

GO PAPERLESS: Paper Statement Opt-Out

Customers can request in writing to opt out or to stop receiving a paper statement. Customer are to complete the opt out form to stop receiving paper statements. Billing information can be viewed online via our Web site. Customers requesting to opt out that are not electronic funds participants must sign up for an account to access information via our Web site.
