Programming & System Support
mission of the Technology Services Department is to deliver quality and
innovative information technology solutions to enhance efficiency,
reduce paperwork, and streamline the flow of information to the
citizens, business community, County departments, Constitutional
offices, and other governmental agencies
a reliable network and communication infrastructure on which user
departments can conduct County business operations
timely and effective resolution to the department's technology needs.
Maintain the highest availability of network resources to users by
keeping network downtime to a minimum
Increase the fault tolerance and reliability of network resources.
adequate support personnel along with the training and tools to
promptly respond to the department needs.
Expanded the fiber optic network to include Parks and Facilities
Fairgrounds location, Waterways maintenance, Westside Transfer
Station, and Tourist Development Welcome Center.
Expanded the Cisco telephone system to include Utilities
Administration and Wiscon offices.
Expanded the Lion system to allow scanning/image retrieval of building
permit applications and supporting documentation.
Provides services and support for Hernando
County Government related to:
analysis, designing, and programming for computer services.
software and hardware computer audits and inventory.
Services (Training, Support, and Web page development/maintenance).
computer software training.
- Network cable
services for title searches to Property Appraisal and Tax information.
services for the patron's to contact the Library system.
Support function of coordinating all communications with outside
agencies in emergency situations, including: telephone services, line
ordering, cable installations, fax machines, and pagers.
telephone billings, including calling cards,
line charges, long distance calls, and other services.
all telephone services, placing orders, and trouble reporting.
research and analysis for all services used by or anticipated for use
by County government.
- Ordering and
monitoring all telephone circuits used for the network, installation
of new telephone workstations and programming.
- Maintenance of more
than 100,000 feet of existing computer, telephone and fiber optic
County PC network
maintenance and system administration.
- Telephone and
voice mail systems maintenance.

support and maintenance.
