The Hernando County Purchasing and Contracts Department procures materials, supplies, equipment and services for County departments, ensuring quality and maximum dollar savings under the supervision of the Hernando County Board of County Commissioners.

Occasionally, the county finds that it has a surplus of supplies or equipment. Several times a year the Hernando County Purchasing  and Contracts Department handles sales of surplus items through auction. This is sometimes a combined governmental auction that involves some of the other Hernando County agencies.
