Winter Softball 2012 - Men's D Division Posted January 23, 2012       Schedule for Men's Softball D Division for Winter 2012 Pine Island Park Playground to Close Temporarily Posted January 19, 2012       The Hernando County Parks Department has announced it will close the playground at Alfred McKethan Park (Pine Island Park)located at 10800 Pine Island Drive for scheduled maintenance on Monday, January 23 through Friday, January 27, 2012. Port Authority Meeting Posted November 1, 2011       The Hernando County Port Authority Board will meet on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Linda Pedersen Park at Jenkins Creek Recreation Building, 6340 Shoal Line Blvd., Hernando Beach. The Port Authority Board meets the first Wednesday of every month. Members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners to review and make recommendations on boating and waterway related issues in Hernando County. All meetings of the Port Authority Board are open to the public. Rogers Park Reopened for Swiming Posted September 29, 2011       REOPENED The swimming area at Rogers Park, 7244 Shoal Line Boulevard, was re-opened today, September 29, 2011. The swimming area had been closed September 9th after bacteriological sampling results indicated high levels of bacteria. The Hernando County Health Department has determined the bacteriological quality of the water has reached safe levels. Direct questions to Albert C. Rogers Park Closed for Swimming Posted September 9, 2011       The Hernando County Health Department has issued a swimming advisory for Rogers Park, 7244 Shoal Line Blvd., effective immediately. Bacteriological test results received Thursday indicate the water quality is in the unacceptable range and may pose an increased risk of disease exposure, especially to young children, older adults and those who have weakened immune systems.
