Welcome to the Hernando County Parks and Recreation Department

Centrally located on the West Coast of Florida, Hernando County is bordered on the west by the Gulf of Mexico and the Withlacoochee River on the east. 35 miles north of Tampa, it is easily reached by the Suncoast Parkway.

The Hernando County Parks & Recreation Department is dedicated to providing a quality park system and leisure activities for all our citizens. We strive to offer residents and visitors opportunities for recreation and improvement of physical and mental well-being, through programs and services that enhance their quality of life.

Our primary goal is to provide safe, clean and functional parks and recreation facilities, and to assist in the planning and development of new and improved facilities to meet the continued growth within the county.

We are committed to fulfilling our mission through visionary leadership, individual dedication, and the responsible use of available resources.

Great exercise, great fun! Summer Camp 2012 Posted May 10, 2012       Here is it folks, your guide to summer fun for 2012! Please fill out & return pages 3-5. Also, please make sure to have page #3 notarized before sending it to us. Once all paperwork is complete your child will be registered for camp. We will then call you for a credit card payment. Set Your Record Day Posted April 30, 2012       Come out and test your individual abilities and learn new ways to improve your strength, balance and endurance!
