The MPO’s
Traffic Count Program
With assistance
from the County Department of Public Works personnel and the MPO's
General Planning Consultant, County Planning Department staff maintains
an ongoing program to collect traffic volume data on all links of the
County road network. Traffic counts are routinely collected, monitored,
and made available to the public, and expansion and refinement of the
traffic count program occurs where possible.
The latest and historic traffic count data (i.e., date of count, daily
count, hourly count of each link) is also available to the public via
the MPO web site, e-mail and/or printed form. The spreadsheet containing
the data is routinely updated annually each spring.
Staff annually reviews operational deficiencies based on the most
current traffic volume data. This task is coordinated with activities to
update existing highway system characteristics.
