This guide will answer your

information and how to contact us. You will also find links to our
Web site policy.
- Supported Web Browsers
Our site will function
properly only if you are using a version 4.0 or higher browser. Version
3.1 of Netscape and Internet Explorer will also work in most cases,
but will not run some JavaScript menus. Which means you would have to
use the alternative links provided at the bottom of the each page to

Effects of
Anti-Virus Programs
- Certain Web pages don't load.
Anti-virus programs can block the good with the bad. Some web
sites use pop-up programs or plug-ins that can be viewed by
an anti-virus program as a threat, depending on how you have
the program configured. Note that when the anti-virus program
is disabled, Web pages open correctly. Solution: Contact the
provider of your anti-virus program (Norton,
McAfee, etc.) for instructions
on reconfiguring your anti-virus program.
Why clear out Cache files?
Cache files are only temporary files. You need not worry about
deleting them. They are only web pages you've accessed that
the browser stores a copy of (to speed things up). It makes viewing
the site quicker the second time around but if the site was updated
in-between visits then you're looking at an old page.
- Plug-Ins. Our Site contains many
documents that require Adobe Acrobat Reader™ in order to view them
(Indicated by
or "PDF").
- JavaScript
It is recommended that you have JavaScript enabled (see you browsers
help files for more information). Java Scripting is used extensively
throughout our web site particularly for site navigation.
- Navigation Help
Information on the Hernando County Government web site is organized
by department. Most departments have their own sub-web within the main
site.
- Screen Resolution
Our web site is best viewed at a screen resolution of 800x600 or larger.
You will find that the higher the screen resolution the more information
you be able to see without scrolling.
- Fonts
Most of the web pages on this site were designed with using the Arial,
Helvetica, Sans Serif, font family; and a font size of 10 or 12 points.
- Downloads
- I found a file I want to download.
When I click the link, it opens in the browser instead of downloading...
Within Internet Explorer, place your cursor on the download link
and right-click. Select "Save Link As" or "Save Target
As". You can do the same in Netscape or hold down the Shift
key while (left) clicking on the link.
- When I try to print the form it won't
fit on one page, part of the form prints on a second page.
The printer you're using is almost always different than the one the
form was created on. Different printers can have different page margins.
The form exceeded the page margins of your printer and that's why it
printed on a second sheet. A quick fix is to check off the "Print
to Fit" box on the print dialog box that comes up when you print
from Acrobat.
- Error Codes

could not find the specific document you requested. The page may

and your browser cannot find the program.

office can be considered "public record" and subject to public
access. Avoid submitting sensitive information in your messages.
