The Utility and
Franchise Regulation Administration oversees the County franchises of two
investor-owned cable companies and five investor-owned solid waste
hauled into
Hernando County, Florida.
Franchise Administration Element
(Cable Television and Solid Waste Disposal)The
franchise
administration element
oversees the provision of cable television in conjunction with Brenda
Frazier of the Community Relations Department to approximately 49,000 cable
subscribers within Hernando County,
Florida. This element establishes and enforces customer service standards while acting as facilitator in resolving billing and service disputes.
In addition, this element is responsible for the franchise rules and regulations governing the solid waste contracts. This function is performed in conjunction with the County's
Code Enforcement Department as well as the
Waste Management Division. The three departments work together in establishing and enforcing customer service standards while acting as facilitator in resolving billing and service disputes.
