Inspectors Responsibilities

  • Originate inspection of legislated administrative requirements including Notice of Commencement, site plan, approved working plans, sanitary facilities for working personnel, proper disposal of construction debris.

  • Provide systematic inspection of residential and commercial development, communicating among different specialized trades to insure structural integrity of buildings and structures.

  • Locate unlicensed contractors.

  • Inspect job sites for safety of structure and working personnel.

  • Investigate service requests for Licensing Division.

  • Investigate minimum housing standards.

  • Continually implement and refine internal performance of inspections.

Electrical Inspectors

  • Ensure compliance with National Electric Code as adopted and amended by County ordinance 99-23.
     

  • Examine equipment for electrical safety.
     

  • Inspect fire damage property.
     

  • Inspect potential electrical hazards.
     

  • National Fire Protection Agency

Plumbing Inspectors

  • Ensure compliance with Standard Plumbing Code as adopted by county ordinance 98-8 and amended by County ordinance 99-24 .

  • Inspect back flow protection for connection of irrigation system with potable  water source.
     

  • Inspect swimming pool circulation systems.

Mechanical Inspectors

  • Ensure compliance with Standard Mechanical Code as adopted and amended by County
    ordinance 98-9.
     

  • Inspect commercial specialty installations including: Grease hood duct system, chillers, chilled water piping, fire dampers, medical gas systems, high velocity vacuum systems.
     

  • Inspect solar domestic water, heating and solar swimming pool heating systems.
